NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

VBS

TOYS

One of our main goals in VBS is to share the gospel with as many kids as we can. One way we motivate kids to bring their friends and memorize scripture is by allowing them to earn prizes. You can help us by donating gently used or new toys, games, books, bikes, scooters, etc. You can shop yard sales, consignment shops, Goodwill, or any store with kids stuff. Let’s fill the stage with things that will motivate kids to bring their friends to VBS. If you don’t like to shop, you can also give a gift of money and someone else will shop for you or buy small gift cards for older kids. Just mark your envelope “for VBS toys.” Thank you for your help. Your donation could affect where a child spends eternity! Please put your donations in the church office (off the stage ramp).

Opportunity To Serve

It’s already May and that means Vacation Bible School is not that far away! This year Vacation Bible School will be held from July 16-20! If you are member we will need teachers, help with setting up/tearing down, registration, security, games, and childcare. Would you prayerfully consider serving this year? If you are willing to serve you may write that on the back of your communication card on Sunday.

Meetings for VBS Outreach

Wednesday Nights on June 13, 20 & 27 and July 11, we will be meeting at the church from 7-8 p.m. to prepare for Vacation Bible School. This will be the opportunity to prepare the details for those who have specific areas of ministry during VBS. We at South Side have a strong focus on reaching out to our community through VBS. Therefore we will distribute flyers throughout the neighborhood and pray for this ministry. All are welcome on any or all of the evenings to this great opportunity to serve in ministry together.

Jackson School Outreach

Our Children’s Ministry invites you to reach out with Jesus’ love to the children, teachers, and families involved at Jackson School across the street from our church. Pastor asked the principal how we could help our school and she said they need the following items:

Box Tops for education

Number 2 pencils and colored pencils

School uniforms-new or gently used pants, shorts, skirts or capris (navy, black, or khaki ONLY)

White or any shade of blue shirts with a collar

**Note 5th-8th graders vary widely in sizes!

If you would like to donate any of these items to Jackson School, you will find a collection box for the box tops in the entrance of the children’s building now through the end of August. Any pencils or clothing, please leave them in the tropical classroom or you can hand them to Laura Smith. Thank you for your help!
